Cruelty-Free Vs. Vegan

What’s The Difference?

Product labels can be confusing.
I hope this helps clear up any confusion you might have.

Cruelty-free

This generally means that the product and/or ingredients have not been tested on animals.

Cruelty-free AND Vegan

This means that the product does not contain any animal ingredients or animal by-products AND it was not tested on animals.

VEGAN

This means that the product does not contain any animal ingredients or by-products.

Keep In mind

If something is labeled “Cruelty-Free,” that doesn’t mean that the ingredients are Vegan. The product might still contain animal ingredients or animal by-products.

Just because something is labeled “Vegan” doesn’t mean that it is “Cruelty-Free.” The product or it’s ingredients might still be tested on animals.

If you are looking to purchase products that do not promote or support animal cruelty and exploitation in any form, your best bet is to purchase products that are both Vegan AND Cruelty-Free.
